Andy Warhol "Marilyn" - Pop Art/Color Theory Worksheets

Remember when you used to doodle mustaches on models in magazines? Or give a black tooth to a smiling picture in a newspaper? If it was SO amusing to alter these images with just a pencil or pen, imagine how much fun you would've had with an entire box of crayons!

Let's face it; Color Theory (despite ironically being so colorful) can be mundane and flat out boring to students. We need to find new ways to keep their attention spans from wandering and keeping them involved in conversations about basic color sorting, let alone complimentary and analogous color relationships.

I used these sheets for my 5th grade students for the following reasons:
  • A new, daring way to review Primary, Secondary, Warm and Cool colors.
  • Worksheet acts as a yearlong Reference Sheet.
  • Practice and Preparation for "Popularity Prints" Project; based on the Artwork of Andy Warhol (See "Popularity Prints" Blog Post.)
