Roy
Lichtenstein “Pop Portraits”
4th Grade Art Stix / Colored Pencils / Markers
Students learned about the artist Roy Lichtenstein and his
use of Primary colors, Popular Subjects, Onomatopoeia and Benday dots. They
each chose a single character to create a Pop Art Portrait by using a variety
of patterns, shapes and lines to enhance their subject with the use of Color
Theory. The result? Well, each artwork is certified to be “straight out of the Funnies!” In other words, you could
easily rip one of these out of the Comics section of the Miami Herald
Newspaper! See for yourself!
